rachel said a judge ruled in 2019 that the law was being broken with those visas that were supposed to take under nine months to process.
why didn't troye speak out then?
why didn't she speak out after biden was sworn in?
why didn't she approach one of our congressional dems (in confidence) that could have pushed this to the forefront?
what the fuck took her so long?

(90,865 posts)She has a lot of experience in her field, and I think she was a career government worker. She tried to make the job work for the sake of the nation, but if you read the Twitter thread she posted today, you will see that it the sabotage, the spying on her and others like her, all of it sickened her. SHE QUIT.
She quit and joined a group called (I think) Republicans for Accountability. I think she runs it now.
She is a genuine Conservative, and also religious, and in her early talks with Nicolle it really showed. It was hard for her to talk about that part of her inner life, but it had everything to do with why she had to get the hell out of the Trump administration and its suppurating corruption. Her moral/ethical scruples make her who she is very much like Jimmy Carter.
Take my observations for what you will, but shes been very active ever since she left her government job. Part of what she does now involves speaking out as the occasion demands. I have seen her numerous times. When I first saw her, she was fairly nervous I had the feeling she was afraid of the Trumpites, afraid they would come for her. But as the saying goes, she persisted.

(7,865 posts)from the day she quit...I understand there are a number of congressional committees looking into the evacuation chaos (Melendez needs to stop parroting the press and start ferreting out fact from fiction)..no doubt she will be called as a witness..the Republicans on the various committees will do what they do best...stall, divert, and grandstand...now is the time to subpoena Miller, Pompeo, and Trump...and if they don't appear the various committee chairs should charge the US Marshalls Service with the task of physically delivering those assholes to the committee...no more defying congressional subpoenas..no more invoking executive privilege...and Olivia Troye should be ready to challenge each and every Miller, Pompeo, Trump lie in real time with receipts..she's obviously not afraid of retaliation...good for her...

(6,046 posts)Olivia worked her ass off to thwart the evil of Stephen Miller and Trump. You want to ignore the the men who engaged in the evil and blame the woman who sought to help our Afghan allies and find the answers.
She has come forward with truth; she does not blame Biden. She is telling us what happened inside the administration that was born of Russian interference in our election coupled with American misogyny and gullibility and ignorance of political reality.
Our task is to now ask the question: what motive did did Stephen Miller and others, including Donald Trump, have to work against our Afghan allies?
I would love to hear your opinion on this.
