1. Several of my coworkers were obsessed

with the Walking Dead. I listened to them go on and on about it.

I mentioned after awhile that it sounded like a soap opera with zombies. They were not receptive.

We watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer on TV, it was novel and fun. Every thing after that has just been boring, nothing new.

3. And it's one friggin' zombie movie after another also.

Movies with an original idea are very hard to find nowadays.

But I guess people just love zombie movies or they wouldn’t keep making them.

However, the original pilot movie for The Walking Dead was really amazing! Then after a while it became a soap opera like you said.

I dropped it after a few more episodes.

2. Having lost my taste for the dystopian genera in general.

It would seem apocalypses are far more banal and stupid all-dumbsuming than was anticipated.

Excluding, Idiocracy which turned out to be a docudrama.

Of the zombie movies, there are only a few which come even close. The original Romero "Night of the Living Dead" (for obvious reasons, because, it was really a statement on the 'isms'.), "Shawn of the Dead" (while intended as a tongue-in-cheek spoof has also proven prescient), and the Zombieland movies (if only for the 'rules', which are useful. #1 CARDIO!) There are a couple of others, which aren't as widely known.

Even more disappointing are the slew of super hero movies.

4. 'Trumpstock' hits Cullman: Local supporters of former president say event was 'a dream come true'

The Zombies are walking with us.

"Alabama’s vaccination is among the lowest in the nation at 36% fully vaccinated. Cullman County’s
vaccination rate is even lower, at 28%. In the past month, the state and county have seen a sharp
rise in covid cases."

5. Except our zombies think they are brilliant.

Never ceases to amaze me how absolutely brilliant and in on all the secrets these people think they are. They are absolutely convinced that their buddy who works at Jiffy Lube knows 1000 times more about infectious diseases than Dr. Fauci does.

6. trump and fellow politicians are the zombies

If you read the whole story, there are a number of places where politicians AND trump say something unpopular and the crowd boos them. Then the politician quickly backs down.

This is not a new thought. It's been said many times that trump follows the ugly crowd, not the other way around.

7. You're right. The CDC will have to adjust it's timetable.

They ran a simulation some years back using Louisiana as target zero for a zombie infection. As I recall, they said the nation would be overrun in seven days.

I think there was an assumption of people running away from and not towards the infected.
