😱TRAGIC: 41-yo elementary schoolteacher Kelly Peterson died of #COVID19.

Her doctors advised against vaccination due to an underlying immune disorder. Her sister: “She did do everything she could to stay safe…always wore a mask, but it wasn’t enough.”

Sister: “This is why she was a virtual teacher last year. She even had students get perfect scores on (state testing). Which is pretty much unheard of. And being virtual was an even bigger accomplishment.”

@GovRonDeSantis REFUSED to allow teachers to do eLearning this year.🤬

“With all the COVID cases this year and her medical situation, she should have been a virtual teacher this year. The school didn’t offer that,” Peterson said. “She did do everything she could to stay safe. She took all the precautions, always wore a mask, but, yes, in the end it wasn’t enough.”

Utter said she saw her colleague follow all the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations to stay healthy.

“When she was here this year, she masked and every time the students would leave, she wiped down everything,” Utter said. “She was diligent in making sure her devices got wiped down. She was really careful about washing her hands. She did everything she could to try to stay away from COVID.”

By last week, Lake Shipp Elementary had 3 confirmed or suspected student cases and 2 confirmed or suspected teacher cases, with 39 students quarantined.

1. Did she invest in a good mask?

People don't understand all masks are not equal. Fashion masks are bogus false security.

N95 and KN95 have been available in mass for months now.

Generally immuno compromised can get vaccinated, in fact right now they are allowed a third dose.
Vaccine might not work as well (or at all) on someone with a weakened immune system-thus the booster.

5. I know that so many people have lied about the "underlying immune" issue

that I just don't believe anyone who claims it.

I was trying to adjust my thinking but guess I can't.

7. In general, people with moderate to severe immune conditions should be vaccinated

They just might not get enough immunity from it, thus the current directive for immuno-compromised people to get a third dose.

Can immunocompromised people receive the COVID-19 vaccine?

Yes, most people with high-risk medical conditions or a combination of the risk factors listed above can get the COVID-19 vaccine — according to the CDC.

None of the approved COVID-19 vaccines contain living organisms, and they cannot infect you with the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID-19 — the science is clear on that. Both the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines use the same technology: They are mRNA vaccines, which use genetic material to train your body to recognize and fight off the virus. The Johnson & Johnson vaccine is a viral vector vaccine that delivers instructions to the body’s immune system using an inactivated virus called an adenovirus.

The recommendations from multiple trusted medical authorities are that the COVID vaccines are safe for people with weakened immune systems who don’t have any other risks with receiving vaccination. The associations supporting this include:

U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology
American College of Rheumatology
Hospital for Special Surgery
National Psoriasis Foundation COVID-19 Task Force

Maybe this woman had other, complicating risk factors, and her doctor really told her not to get it. But maybe she just didn't want to get it.
My daughter has an auto-immune disease and got the vaccine; one of my mother's caregivers has RA and hesitated until her rheumatologist told her it was safe, and she got it.

I think the woman in the original post probably did not even talk to her doctor. She just used social media to get her info.

6. She was overweight (looking at the photos),

with a weak immune system (per the article) and was reportedly advised by her doctors not to get vaccinated.
For someone like that to go teach a class full of un-vaxxed and un-masked kiddies, covid was going to get her sooner rather than later.
And it took what, less than two weeks? She started teaching on August 13th and now she is dead.
