Alleged Sexual Harasser Abandons Dog

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is leaving his governorship behind, and his little dog too.

The Albany-based Times Union reports that when Cuomo moved out of the governor’s mansion last week, he asked staffers if anyone would like to keep his dog, Captain.

From the Times Union, emphasis our:

Two State Police sources told the Times Union on Saturday that the governor had recently asked mansion staff members if anyone would be interested in caring for the dog. Captain — a high-strung mix of shepherd, Siberian and malamute — has nipped a few people since Cuomo adopted him in 2018, the sources said, and a mansion staffer recently took the dog home for a few days but decided he was too much.

This puts him in the same category as Rafaelito Cruz. Pretty sure Captain will soon have a Twitter account and be part of @LeviFetterman's Animal Caucus

Rich Azzopardi, a spokesman for Cuomo, told the Times-Union that leaving the dog behind was only "temporary" because Cuomo is planning to go on vacation.

"He wants to go on vacation. They love that dog," he told the outlet. "That's not what he asked: He didn't ask to give away the dog. ... This nameless source is crazy. ... I can't believe this is what I'm dealing with right now, when I'm dealing with a major storm."

The spokesman then issued another statement on Saturday focusing on Tropical Storm Henri, which hit the Northeast over the weekend, rather than Cuomo's planned vacation.

"Captain is part of the governor's family and for your nameless ill-informed source to imply they've been trying to give him away is untrue," the statement said. "Someone offered to watch him for a few days while the transition was ongoing but for that to be weaponized and morph from a game of telephone into the pages of your paper is absurd — now excuse us we're preparing for a major storm."

Is the Governor's residence a Kennel? That's not what people do with their dogs while on vacation.

No, it's not, that's why this "story" is bullshit. Cuomo would have called a kennel before hand, had one of his adult daughters watch the dog for him, or taken the dog with him. Nobody accused him of abandoning Captain when he took his fishing trip to Saranac Lake in 2020 or any of his other vacations.

If he was simply done with the dog, he would have done what the article recounts.

It appears you haven't noticed, that Cuomo was leaving the Governor's mansion--that is not coming back. That is the difference between this situation and the vacations from the mansion that you recount. It's so obvious that it's absurd I have to point it out to you.

That fact that the OP shared an unknown source like it's fact is absurd. The fact that your acting like it's a fact is absurd.

Yes, I know that he left the mansion. Yes, I know that Gov. Hochul will be my new Governor.

Multiple and reliable sources have stated that it's not true. DU's TOS did not change to allow slander.

Goodbye.

The article is from the Albany Times Union, and the information comes from two
state police officers.

I suppose you think Watergate was discredited too since Deep Throat's name was not given at the time. Sources have not discredited the account. The very same newspaper article gives the defense made by the Cuomo's former Senior Advisor.

Amazing that people still go to the mat to protect a sexual predator.

The Albany Times-Union may claim it's a left source, but is owned by Hearst Communications, which owns newspapers, magazines, television channels, and television stations, including the San Francisco Chronicle, the Houston Chronicle, and Esquire. According to Open Secrets Hearst has donated 70% to Republican candidates and causes in 2020. No other major source picked this story up. Two other sources with unnamed State Police officers? Oh because police officers never lie, right?

You don't know what I think. Stop making assumptions and grow up. You sound like a kindergartener trying to pick a fight over a source that's not credible. This was never about defending a sexual predator and you know it.

Welcome to my ignore list.

And Tenney tweeted:
"In case you needed any more proof that Andrew Cuomo was a narcissistic sociopath, he just abandoned his dog at the Governor's Mansion."

When the Repubs hop in like this, the story picks up a tinge of 💩.
