2. C'mon--even if, for the first time in history we actually worked together...

on this thing, there's still the rest of the planet keeping up the heat.

There is no way Americans will inconvenience themselves to help cool the planet.

We can still minimize the damage to an extent but we’ll definitely go through some things. Worse case scenario would be a 4 degree increase which we can definitely avoid but we must start acting now otherwise we’re fucked. Humanity would survive but there’d be billions fewer people and civilization could very well disappear.

4. Human behavior is definitely the issue. But it's much deeper. It's what we've allowed

corporations to do by electing politicians who will allow the true destroyers to write the legislation. There is a direct correlation between campaign contributions and the destruction of the planet. As long as this is allowed, we are doomed. Can we change it? I’m not sure we can. The apathetic seem to outnumber those willing to sacrifice luxury for a more simplistic life. Individuals will never be able to make the difference reigning only the corporate destroyers would do.

I’m not sure what to do at this point. I e worked for Greenpeace, Earth First, I have sat in a redwood to save it…I have done many things. But as I have grown older I have not seen the influx that many who e done this have hoped for. And now the most beautiful spots on the planet are being devastated.

once the cancer (humans) is gone.

But on a good note, even if you think the worst, if you recycle you have hope.

9. The Earth will survive. Humans will survive once the population gets low enough.

Climate change will not be slowed down because the majority of people in industrialized countries don't want to give up their lifestyle and people in 3rd world countries want what we have. How do you tell the people in 3rd world countries they can't have cars when we have so many. They can not afford electric cars so they buy older cars that are shipped to them for resale. They also want electricity and most likely will build coal-burning systems. Then there are the food shortages with the ever-increasing population so forests are cut down for farms and livestock. I don't think we have even a 1% chance of slowing down climate change.

Those of us in their 70's and older will most likely pass on while those of us in our mid 60's or younger might still be around when the bad stuff starts arriving. And being old, we are going to be highly dependent on others. people who may not be able to assist.
