(118,642 posts)I bet once the women figure out their characters, they don't want to have children by them. There were two famous abortion access cases in Canada where the women had injunctions against them getting an abortion brought by the men who were both total creeps and/or narcissists. The women had broken up with them. It is probably not a more frequent abortion story but one that does repeat itself.

want the final say. If it would be inconvenient to his public image or ruinous to his career, that slut should definitely get an abortion after she got herself pregnant. If he has manhood issues and is a big Mens Rights fan, she better by God not deprive him of the fruit of his loins.

in secret information, and the penalty in Texas is going to be 99 years in prison for abortionists. Plus, that $10,000 bounty is going to be a real incentive for accusations.

(43,348 posts)This states that up until the end of the eighteenth week of the pregnancy, the choice of an abortion is entirely up to the woman, for any reason whatsoever.
After the 18th, a woman needs a permission from the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) to have an abortion.
Permission for these late abortions is usually granted for cases in which the fetus or mother are unhealthy.
Abortion is not allowed if the fetus is viable, which generally means that abortions after the 22nd week are not allowed.
However, abortions after the 22nd week may be allowed in the rare cases where the fetus can not survive outside the womb even if it is carried to term.
The issue is largely settled in Sweden, and the question of the legality of abortion is not a highly controversial political issue.
Consensus in Sweden is in favour of preventing unwanted pregnancies by the use of birth control and the primary goal is not to lower the amount of abortions, but rather the goal is that all children that are born should be wanted.
The number of abortions statistically follows the number of pregnancies. In comparison with the other Nordic countries, Sweden ranks high in number of abortions, and low in number of young parents, while the number of pregnancies in relation to total population is largely the same in all Nordic countries.

(58,785 posts)and inequality? Would reallly be better if the wealthy also couldn't access illegal abortions?
This is about women's and men's reproductive rights and women's health and equality -- huge basic issues affecting virtually everyone.
Btw, does anyone doubt they'll be coming for the constitutional right to privacy itself, a flimsy construct not actually written in the constitution? Among other things, but including abortion, it currently protects our bodies from government interference, including the right to use or refuse birth control, to choose or reject surgery, and many other potential dystopian horrors. Including the people's right to a free and open internet so government can't refuse us forums like this one and choose what our browser searches will provide.

(22,756 posts)I saw a movie about something like that when I was hitting puberty, it made quite an impression as I was in fear of being raped by my father, a pedophile, and getting pregnant. I wondered if I would kill myself if that happened, I had already, at that time, decided that if he raped me I would kill him.
It was a scary prospect being a young woman before Roe v Wade.
