Question about Magats

Are there any Magat doctors and nurses working in hospitals who have to take care of Covid patients? It seems to me to be unlikely.

Do any of you know of any? How do they rationalize their Magat beliefs?

1. I was in the hospital for most of last year.

I discussed politics with some of the nurses and doctors while I was in there, and most of them were conservative, and some were Trumpers.

I remember one particular nurse who was particularly pro-Trump. In some ways, she was stereotypical, in that she 'did her own research ' about issues and she was all about protecting her freedom to be armed in public. However, she was a good nurse. We learned that we didn't agree on much regarding politics, but we respected each other. If all the Trumpers were like her, things wouldn't be so bad.

As far as Covid patients go, they were separated from the rest of the patients. In one hospital, they had their own ward. The other hospital I was in had Covid patients infrequently. From what I saw, I don't think that politics was in their equation when they chose which nurses and doctors cared for the Covid patients.

One thing that I was concerned about was some of the nurses' attitude toward the vaccine. They were just coming out with the vaccine when I left the hospital. I discussed it with the doctors and nurses, asking them if they were going to take it, and the doctors all said that they would, but a lot of the nurses said no. Most of the ones who said no came up with the usual excuses, such as they didn't trust the government or they said that it was rushed and they wanted to see how it affected others before they got it.

So, in answer to your question, yes, there are probably MAGAt doctors and nurses caring for Covid patients. However, I believe that most of them are professional enough to leave their politics out of their jobs. Some Trumpers are good at their jobs and a few are, deep down, decent people. Not most of them, mind you, but some.

I also know several nurses who would never get a flu shot, I never did either but I was careful during flu season. Covid is another animal, and I was wondering if the nurses are privy to information whether the Covid patients were vaccinated or not? It would seem that if they they were they would change their tune on not getting vaccinated.

Trump. One thing all MAGAts I know have in common is they are raceists. There was one of the gas drilling workers from Louisiana a black guy I heard talking that hates his own race.

5. Yes, sadly, there are some MAGAT nurses and dentists too from my direct experience.

A guy that worked with my husband was an anti-masker, anti-vaxxer and his wife is a nurse. He gets his "information" from her and she said not to get vaccinated until it was approved under regular order. Well, 2 months ago, she came down with Covid, was in the hospital for 3 weeks, their kids got it and the guy got it too and still came to work. He was coughing and refused to take a test so they put him on leave without pay until he could provide two negative Covid tests. Now this stupid family is refusing to get vaccinated because stupid rw nurse wife says they don't need it, they have sufficient antibodies.

Some people just refuse to learn and these folks will probably get it again. The wife was really sick, in ICU for a week, but learned not one damn thing from it and is still murderously & suicidally stupid.

The new dentist I went to last year was anti-mask, anti-vaccine. I needed emergency services, but refused to get them from him, he was just too fucking rw crazy for me. It took me a bit during the shutdown to find a dentist who would treat me, but luckily I was able to get through it with nothing worse than mild-moderate pain.
