They have gone 200 years backwards.
I am really having trouble getting my head around this.

(47,014 posts)Most of the GOP leadership would send their girlfriends or daughters to get an abortion in a nanosecond and not think anything of it.
It is a just a war game to the GOP, they grab an issue and take it to the extreme as part of their attempt to gain total control over the country. They also want fame, status, power, wealth. And never to have any consequences for their criminal actions.

(9,478 posts)The RWNJ's are obsessed with white replacement. I would expect that they would pass new laws weakening child support since they won't want to pay for the bastards they sire.

I don't think the math works out in the GOP favor.

(58,785 posts)religion and social structures are far, far stronger motivators for most, men and women, than saving babies.
Some really are genuinely horrified by and passionately opposed to abortion.
But most anti-abortionists only imagine they are, transient sorrow when thoughts of lives that won't be lived intrude no stronger than most pro-abortionists'. Insight and self honesty aren't exactly strong points for most of these, though, and they'll die without realizing it was mostly just a label, a group identity.
Their own spread of the virus has been killing many thousands of unborn babies who were either miscarried or died with their mothers, and...crickets. Their leaders haven't told them they're supposed to care.

(47,014 posts)Their concern for children is inconsistent at best or dishonest.
Not too many ways to slice it, they don't look good.
Yes honesty and self- awareness are not present in this group.
Many have just been duped into GOP talking points.
The GOP loves division and riling up the ranks for the sake of political power.

(54,370 posts)The "Real Existing Socialism" set up a large network of "Inoffizielle Mitarbeiter," or "unofficial collaborators," whose job it was to spy on, and report on people they were close to, whether work-related, or family members, or just close friends designated by the Staatssicherheit (Secret Police) as worth keeping an eye on. Always willing to learn from Stalin, the Republican Party has worked out a system similar to the East German methods for monitoring, and, if necessary, terrorizing citizens who don't fall into line of their own free will.
If you listen closely, you can hear the faint shouting of George Orwell: "no, no, you idiots, that's what the BAD guys were doing!"
