This will be just like the two farcical impeachment 'trials' of tfg.
America may be deceased as we know it.
I hope Democrats are ready to play hardball.

(46,501 posts)I kept warning about it, but finally people are seeing what we are up against.
The GOP consists of ruthless sociopaths who will stop at nothing to gain total power and control.
And secure vast wealth. They care nothing about this country or its citizens.
As American civilian casualties continue to mount, perhaps people will finally start seeing the light.

(10,417 posts)I'm so sick of elected Democrats acting as if they have all the time in the world.
Republicons will be back in control soon, thanks to certain Democrats, and all of this will be ended. They'll get away with everything again. The next republicon president will probably pardon whichever of their pissant footsoldiers did get arrested.

(35,296 posts)on. Most of America have forgotten about Jan 6th. They forgot who sent us into Afganistan and was responsible for thousands of deaths. The subject now is blaming Biden for 13 deaths. The good news this too will pass. When the Senate refused to do anything months ago that ended it.

(2,769 posts)I'm in Kansas. All my reps are R's. Is it taboo for me to try to email Pelosi, as Majority Leader of the Democrats? I mean, I'm 65 and I've been a Dem since I could first vote at 18. Surely there's someone to hear me? I spend every election day telling myself I'm voting and it counts... somehow... even tho KS always majorities out as R. But now I really need it to mean something to some Democrat someplace high up. There's too much going on... I feel like I'm dying here... screaming into the wind... am I just nobody, because I live in an "R" state?

(135,791 posts)Nearly seven months after a violent mob attempted to block Congress from certifying President Joe Bidens electoral college win, a select committee of seven Democrats and two Republicans convened what will be the first of many hearings that committee members plan to use to tell a definitive story of the worst attack on the Capitol since Admiral Sir George Cockburn ordered its burning in August 1814.
The committees investigation is the Houses second attempt to bring about accountability for any Trump administration officials and Republican members of Congress who may have played a role into fomenting the events of the day. The first, a brief inquiry which led to former President Donald Trump becoming the first American president to face two Senate impeachment trials, was limited by both time constraints and the Trump administrations wholesale rejection of the Democratic-led chambers investigative authority.
But even with the White House and the executive branch under the control of Biden and his appointees, it remains unclear whether officials of the former administration will cooperate. Also unclear is whether Democrats will be willing to do what is necessary to secure testimony from a stable of GOP witnesses that could include their own colleagues and the former president.

(111,052 posts)The courts have to be involved. It is not simple political differences. There are laws that need to be defined and followed through. For example, when the judge ruled that Trump did not have to turn all his tax returns over to the Congress, that should have been appealed to the courts, in my opinion.
