this is the last fuck they're going to get until that law is changed. I would like to see how long it takes them to repeal it. If enough women are serious about it, I think it might work.

They’re going to have to make sure they’re never in a position to be pressured or coerced by men who don’t want to take no for an answer.

Tough when you’re living in the same house.

Coercion doesn’t have to take the form of violent rape. But I don’t have to tell any woman here that.

Nothing about women’s bodies
Pandoring to those who lean on religion

To prevent medical needs of women who need it the most and whose current life doesn’t allow them any other medical choices
Those who don’t need it the most PAY at other locations.

Typical GOP maneuver
Typical scotus deafening non-reply

Theocracy at work

I don't think so. It's more about pandering for whatever vote they can get at the immediate moment.

They are too stupid for a master plan.

It’s about forcing women, all women, to give birth.

I tend to think it’s about eliminating competition from women in the workplace. Having kids makes it harder to complete an education or pursue a career.

This keeps the women at home and the money in the hands of the men - who will NOT be expected to support in any way the children they create.

I think both racism and misogyny are at work. The psychological and economic consequences of forced births and coat hangers will dove tail with ongoing marginalization by the electoral, criminal justice, educational, health care and financial systems to suppress the vote.

They did so for several years until Republican tacticians searched for an issue they could turn into an election strategy. What they really wanted to do was to promote white supremacy and stop integration, but they knew that would be hard to justify so they chose abortion and went to work turning people against it so they would vote for Republicans. It worked, and today it’s a major reason for Republicans winning elections.

I hope this backfires on Abbott and Republicans in next year’s election. He just dded this to bis miserable failures on the electricity grid, his dismal performance on Covid with thousands of cases and deaths, and now loosing vigilantes to stalk and harass women and health clinics.

A poll from 2018 showed that 62% of people in Texas support abortion rights, though the same poll showed that only 30% of Republicans supported them. Perhaps independents will finally lean toward Democrats because of this issue.
