1. I'm betting it is pretty hard

to get a rape conviction in that state too. I do not know but it seems it is hard to even get one here anymore. When you can rape a 10 year old for over a year and come away with a 6 month sentence I would say rape is probably more of an option that it was when it was a capital offense.
