Instead of simply reporting McCarthy's threat to the telecom companies and the House Special Committee, CNN actually looked into whether there is some federal statute that would do what McCarthy claims: Companies would be subject to losing their ability to operate in the United States. There isn't.

I wonder if anyone will follow up with the Minority Leader and ask him how he's going to carry out his threat?
