I actually had an original cassette that was a copy of a copy of a copy...before it was released officially, it was a total underground thing, I worked in the biz at the time and still have some great, classic JB SWAG from back then, and a funny story that's related to the JB that probably got me fired from that job.

I worked in the regional sales office of Sony when I was fresh out of college as a radio promo/sales coordinator, and was friendly with a bunch of young girls my age that worked in the main national office (Blackrock) and they used to call me all the time and prank me with silly stuff, and I always promised that I'd get them back. One day I called one of them and basically did the "super across the way" bit, thinking she'd get it, because we were all in the biz and JB was buzzing at the time.

She was clueless. She hung up the phone about 15 seconds in. I called her right back immediately but one of the other girls said she was unavailable. Later, I find out she was in tears in her bosses office! Her father was a VP at Epic Records! A few months later she got a job as in MY office as a Regional Manager, for one of Sony's minor labels, and basically she was one of my bosses. The rest is, shall we say, history.
