Caldor fire... Here's my "Evacuee Update"

So it's really only Wednesday? This "week" has felt much longer.

Fire status via local FB groups : They are using the winds to herd the fire up the canyon into the wilderness away from the neighborhoods... Power back on (ring cameras coming back online) near my neighborhood as well

Still, we could be out for up to a month worst case scenario.


Fire is still a freaking MONSTER... bigger than Rhode Island! and still ACTIVE in the Tahoe Basin, we are nowhere near real containment...

Im grateful we found a good motel in Tahoe City, so it still has the Local vibe and they gave us a good rate and arent charging for pets. But staying in ONE room with only a microwave for a month is an awful reality check
Im exhausted for doing barely anything the stress has me all fucked up....


We went to the grocery store tonight in a desperate attempt to find something different for dinner...
Walked in and saw fresh corn
then went and looked at crappy microwave and deli options

Then burst into tears because I miss my kitchen... damn corn on the cob would have been nice..

1. You can do corn on the cobb in the microwave.

Sorry for what you are going through.

But for your Corn fix, peel back the husk, but do not remove. Take off the silk and pull husk back over cobb.

Microwave until corn is done to your desired level. Time will depend on your microwave power.

Microwaves can do many things. I hope you let us know when you are once again in your kitchen cooking. It will happen. I am on the west side of Caldor. I have family members in Kings Beach.

slept till 11am, stress has me all messed up
