(1,012 posts)If a woman has sex with 100 random men in a year, she can only produce one full term pregnancy. If a guy has sex with 100 random women in a year, he can produce 100 full term pregnancies. So why exactly are we only talking about regulating women?

(36,745 posts)I am for completely unrestricted abortion rights. Its the only way to absolutely ensure the womans health is paramount.
Personally I think even NY abortion law is too restrictive.

(10,151 posts)Why should embryos have a right to another person's body? If I at 25 need a kidney, does my mother have to then give me hers? If the fetus were to be born and grow to a child, would it have a right to the father's kidney if it needed a transplant? The answer is No. Yet embryos have a right to use a woman's body without her consent according to the religiously insane and Texas.
A 6 week embryo is Not a baby, it is not a person, it does not have special rights that other people don't have to each other's bodies. Until it can live unattached to another human, it lives at the pleasure of the woman whose body it is using.

(12,375 posts)But between impregnation and birth, there are a million different reasons for different outcomes. My view on abortion for myself is where my opinion belongs, not at the door of my neighbor.

(15,080 posts)#1 - All good Democrats leave the state of Texas. We're talking serious brain drain here.
#2 - All good Democrats need to STAY in Texas in order to vote the fuckers out!
A dilemma indeed.

(6,846 posts)I admire the strength of the Democrats who choose not to leave but to stay and fight.
But I cannot fault the choice of those who leave. A human being can only stand so much.

(423 posts)Then lets REALLY GO ALL OUT and demand funeral services for failed pregnancy. There will be "persons" dying every month with menses according to studies so tampons and sanitary napkins should be deposited in an appropriate place {a church, or state legislature or the SCOTUS) until such time aas proper post-mortem rites can be completed.

(423 posts)Both are already live entities.
The "create life" and "when does life start" are deliberate equivocation logical fallacies designed to create confusion and steal the opponents words leaving no way to counter argue.
equivocation = same word different meanings

I was just trying to throw a bit of levity into the mix. I have to laugh so I don't cry or rail against the idiocy in the world.
