But the poor and ignorant don't have a choice, especially if they live in Texas.

(6,801 posts)who think they can escape the coming justice. As for your daughter, just make sure that you keep a check on the length of those skirts and she'll probably get along just fine.
(On re-read, I scared myself. I was being sarcastic but it came out unintentionally sinister. Or is it self explanatory how some concepts require inherently cruel explanation?)

(10,135 posts)This is just the 1st step of turning women into incubators and chattel.
I wasn't bragging. I was just saying because I have some money, my daughter will have an escape. But the poor and abused have no way out.
I think a good and moral society should take care of the weakest among them before they lavish luxuries on the rich. This Texas law does just the opposite.

(1,910 posts)Every Democrat starting now must say over and over that all Repug candidates and office holders support this. Start now and continue through the midterms and 2024. Tie them all to it, make them state they support it, over and over and over again.

(29 posts)This is exactly right. But it won't just be poor white women who will be bearing these children. It will be brown and black women too, leading to the demographic shift the dying white dinosaurs are desperately trying to stop.

(23,061 posts)They wants serfs and barons and you know which we will be. Unfortunately judges all come from this class and they want the same thing and have just taken a huge step forward to increase the poverty and desperation of young women & their children. Fuck them all, I hope this motivates a flood of women to yank all those rw male assholes legislators & judges out of their jobs.

(37 posts)It is absolutely essential that the reporting hotline get abused past the point of breaking it. Under the abysmal illegal ban the informant is NOT required to live in the state of texas, SOOOOO, everybody can sue republicans under the presumption that they assisted in an abortion. Since the ban is illegal do you really give a shit if you falsely report a repuke? I sure as shit don't. Let's cripple the state with lawsuits and I do mean cripple their entire legal system FORCING them to ONLY deal with this one issue because there isn't enough time and resources to do ANYTHING else. They must be FORCED to repeal the law or watch their state judiciary collapse. Fuck Texas!

The only bright spot is this, along with ignorant voting right laws are pushing Democrats to act.
Pelosi is presenting a bill. President Biden is taking action. We need to stomp them down hard.
But you know Republicans are ecstatic. President Bidens ratings have fallen from 80% approval You You all the way down to. 70%! When Trump never got out of the 40s.
And that is with the steady, hysterical drumbeat of the MSM hate Biden! That has abated since every one turned on the MSM and backed Biden ending the war!

It's fun to spam it and gunk it up...
Texas Right to Life will probably remove this stupid form.
In the end, it will be a James O'Keefe or David Daleiden or a copy cat who do dirty work to find a woman or provider....They will get a hippy looking type woman to infiltrate women's circles...
All this talk you're seeing on DU...they will find these women in real life....they will find a woman who wants an abortion. They will pose as a woman who can help her...
It will be dirty tricksters, not a stupid internet form....

(28,243 posts)I can virtually promise that there have been abortions paid for by current Republican state legislators and officeholders; it's been going on for generations. Their names need to be on the front pages of every major Texas newspaper, and all over the place online. The sooner the better.
The same goes for the "vigilantes" created by that disgusting new law: if they want their $10,000 blood money payoff, their identities ought to be known, far and wide.

(5,399 posts)We have a rep. in TN who is a physician and impregnated one of his staff and one of his patients. He paid for those abortions, something that has been public for years. Hes been in Congress over 10 years and is still getting re-elected. Its mind-boggling.

(2,541 posts)I still dont get how the GOPers do this 💩 and still manage to remain in office yet a Dems has a racy picture taken that is obviously in jest. Just that no actual pregnancy followed by abortion or the dolling out a prescription drugs like DesJarlais and the ex White House doctors now in congress Jackson but the Dem has to resign in shame and never be heard from again. When GOPers do have to resign they go to some well paid consulting congress job while rehabbing their characters and then jump back in to politics and run again like the Greitens character.

(29 posts)It has been going on for generations for wealthier women. In the 80's I used to work in a local hospital. There was a steady stream of "D and C's" scheduled that everyone knew was just code for abortion. Meanwhile the protesters were standing outside of Planned Parenthood.

(109 posts)I graduated high school in 1973 in a small town close to Wichita. I remember the girls that had to have a D & C. For years I did not know what that meant, I do now. Back then doctors did that. I am tired of pro lifers, they would keep real busy if they helped the kids that were here now, but they are not interested in that, just let them get sick do not provide health care. What about access to prenatal care, not ever a mention of that. My mother had 5 kids and raised them herself, I remember all the hungry days, never a hand to help.

(2,175 posts)for finally turning their bodies over to the common sense men of Texas. Your baby-ovens will now be safe from the influences of those socialist librul women who want to take away your freedom to follow our better judgement. We're glad that you understand that these librul commie skanks have absolutely nothing in common with you or your bodies and that they are actually of another species. (I even have an expert friend who tells me that theirs is horizontal and not vertical, yuk, yuk). And as an added bonus, we'll throw in a cash reward for those who turn in their own kind who are stupid enough to give up their freedoms to follow our rules over their bodies!
We all are relieved that you finally understand that the oven does not tell the baker that it does not want to bake a loaf of bread today, nor does it choose what kind of bread it bakes.
The baker is in charge of that, as it is meant to be.
Welcome aboard!
Sincerely,
The Texas Taliban

(43,048 posts)There is no compelling reason for the State to do so, other than to force religious beliefs on the general public, as far as I can tell.
It's not about freedom, public health, taxation, law enforcement. It is a religious preference codified into law.
