In what looks to be a post-Roe world (Ick), I’d guess that we’re going to see red states get a whole lot more socially conservative via reactionary legislation, but purple states may see a blue swing with reproductive rights on the line.

GOP does not want to outlaw abortion. Been saying this for years. Outlawing abortion was always their main source of revenue for conservative christians to donate to their campaigns. If that goes away then they will have to find a new source. Cannot be ANTI LBGT since most of the population especially younger people support rights for them.

this will wind up being the proverbial "dog finally catching the car" situation for Republicans. And that people going sue happy over abortions completely wrecks the anti-choice movement and legislators in Texas.

I don't think that senior Republicans care one way or the other except for the fact that it is an issue that cements their base. If they actually cared, it would indicate that they had compassion, morals and ethics (even if misplaced). I have seen none of these characteristics in Republicans since Reagan.

It shows them that their party can deliver. It will help them in recruiting fence setters. Most people want to be on the winning team. As far as I am concerned it is an unmitigated disaster even beyond Women's rights issues. The Supreme Court's action through inaction is a barometer, forecasting our coming storm.
