is really cutting hospital stays and deaths doe to COVID in FL. There has been a significant improvement since using this procedure.
Why don't other governors do the same? Is there a real shortage of these antibodies or is this method being reserved for those of the privileged class and in red states or areas of states that voted for Trump?
How much of the process is controlled by the medical profession that favor the GOP?

Monoclonal antibodies are being used to treat Covid in every state, what is DeSantis doing differently?

(31,909 posts)much better and less expensive and less jamming up of hospitals? He should be promoting that, instead. Some people suffer long term effects from the virus still. Its better not to get it in the first place, IMO.

(44,972 posts)Florida also infects people who come to visit, then they go to their home states and their infections and subsequent deaths get counted in their home states and not in Florida.
But even by official numbers, deaths are high in Florida.

(16,834 posts)available at locations all over the state. I don't know how much it costs, but I know that it's much more expensive than the vaccine. I'm glad the therapy is available, but it burns me up that some of these governors have refused to fully endorse getting the vaccine, but they instead encourage people to go get the therapy. Instead of prevention, they want people to get the expensive treatment so that it will line the pockets of their big contributors.

(23,061 posts)He's changed the way the death #'s are reported to scam everyone and it's obviously working to some extent. Monoclonal antibodies are very temporary and don't prevent repeat infections, that's why he likes them. They are super expensive and the owner is his major donor so he wants us to get this over and over so his buddy makes out like a bandit, and I'm positive there's a large carrot in there for DS himself or he still wouldn't be doing this. Ducey and Kemp are also doing this with the antibodies and for the exact same reasons. They don't want us healthy since they are making tons of money off our sickness & deaths.
He's defying the courts and stealing money from the districts that have mask mandates, that's how much he hates us & wants us very sick and dying.

(2,636 posts)Vaccines are like oil changes.
They prevent damage to the engine.
It's costlier to repair what's damaged than it is to prevent the damage.
DeSantis' biggest donor profits from the use of regeneron. THis is a conflict of interest. "I won't prevent you from getting sick with a free vaccination, but I'll profit off your recovery. Bummer about the long haul symptoms." His hoax/antivaxx sentiments are killing more people than his donors' treatments save.
DeSantis, and every other GOP pol who has promulgated Hoax/ivermectin/hydroxychloroquine/vitamin C, D and Zinc/more credit to TFG/anti-masking/open it up and trust the lunatics thinking is complicit in MASS MURDER.
Prosecute them all.
Expand the Court, and run for local office.
all politics is local.

(1,584 posts)His refusal to push for vaccinations and masks is what has perpetuated this disaster.
He should mandate masks until we get to at least 70% vaccinated. He should be allowing vaccine mandates. And monoclonal antibody treatment is available if you get infected prior to full vaccination or if you get a breakthrough infection.
But he isnt doing that and the delta variant is running rampant and people are dead needlessly.
