History seems to have gone on without his approval, and "liberal democracy" did not win in the end. It's under threat in fact, because of policies put in place by his friends, wannabe fascists just shy of jackboots.
I signed on for the Cornell lecture for amusement purposes only.

(33,477 posts)This is the first I've heard of him in years; I'm on the mailing list for the eCornell Lectures, and sometimes attend. These lectures are generally fairly short, and usually a fair amount of the time is taken up by the Cornell faculty praising themselves.
I wouldn't call Fukuyama a "Golden Oldie" but rather a "Pyrite Oldie."
It may be fun to hear him mutter.
I do, however, have a modicum of respect for people who can change their minds. I have been forced to change my own ideas many times when facing reality, but never came close to being a Reganite.
