(9,471 posts)I am afraid focusing so broadly will make it difficult for people to remember what companies are okay and which ones are not.
We need a villain or 2 to make examples of.

(4,865 posts)The companies there cannot easily detach from Texas if they disagree with the politics. They have too much sunk costs there.
However, sporting events, conferences, and large events are huge money makers for Texas. They CAN be more easily moved or rescheduled. I'm thinking of Austin SXSW for one.
Texas Right to Life has a big conference coming up soon. Should be invaded.

It's all nicely tabbed for easy reading, but the DU posting software removes the extra spaces.

(518 posts)I'm not sure you should boycott Dell. I haven't been following things as closely as I did when I lived in Texas, but Dell often sided with democratic values in the past.
I don't think there are HEB stores outside of Texas but they were definitely good guys. Big Democrat donors. Lots of worthwhile causes. Treated employees well.
Whole Foods isn't a Texas based company anymore. They're owned by Amazon.

(15,298 posts)It doesn't matter that Dell, or HEB donate to Democrats
They make their fucking money in Texas.
If you truly support Democracy, you'd get the fuck out of Texas.
The Retrumplicans only care about money and power. The ONLY way to impact them is to punish every company in that fucking state.
It should not be profitable for ANY Texas based company as long as this bill, and the voter suppression bill are still the law of the land there, or as long as white supremacists continue to be the majority of elected officials in Texas.
BTW - Remember all those "progressive" companies in Georgia that blocked Georgia's voter suppression bill from becoming law?
Yeah, neither do I.
Please tell me what outrage will finally be enough?
Do they have to start murdering people?
Should we wait until 1 woman dies because of this bill, or will it take 1,000.
At some point, there had to be No Quarter given.
Like the right likes to say about the Taliban; "they only understand strength".
Failure to boycott ALL of Texas is nothing but weak sauce.
