I believe Mrs. Greg Abbott had an abortion at 7 weeks gestation.

As well as *every* other Mrs. Republican Texas Lawmaker. EVERY ONE OF THEM.

They will all be sued, and they will all have to appear in court and defend themselves.

And if they prevail in court, they will have no right whatsoever to counter-sue for legal expenses.

This
Must
Happen.

The point is to file a vast number of suits that allege abortioneering of some kind or other. Every suit must be defended, else the claimant in each suit gets $10,000 (from the taxpayers, I guess)... and the claimant faces no penalty whatever for filing even the most frivolous claim.

A negative defense that no abortion took place and that you haven't provided any reason to think that one did... costs almost nothing (certainly less than it will cost you). And it isn't true that there are no penalties for frivolous claims. There isn't a specific minimum (as there is with the $10k), but they absolutely can make the standard claim for you to pay their costs.

It appears that this Texas law specifically precludes the defendant seeking costs, if sued under this law.

There could be sanctions against an attorney bringing a frivolous lawsuit, tough, when there is absolutely no evidence supporting claims made in the suit.

And after they testify, who would believe them? I mean "her emails", TFG "really won the election", Ivermectin cures COVID, and the COVID virus is a hoax anyway!

So two sides can play this truth telling game and can play it by the same rules!

And the Uber drivers or whoever else helped them.

The point of this law is to shut down the clinics.

and the RNC of Texas offices and other places that Republicans own/frequent.

In fact, I heard there was a mass abortioning on the 50-yard line at the Dallas Cowboys stadium.
