Remington Just Subpoena'd Sandy Hook Victim's Disciplinary Records

A gunmaker being sued by nine families who lost loved ones in the Sandy Hook shootings has subpoenaed the academic, attendance and disciplinary records of five children killed that day. The subpoena included requests for school records of four educators who were killed.

Lawyers for those nine families moved in court Thursday to seal those confidential records of the five slain children and four slain educators because requested by the bankrupted Remington company.

“We have no explanation for why Remington subpoenaed the Newtown Public School District to obtain the kindergarten and first-grade academic, attendance and disciplinary records of these five school children,” said the families’ lead attorney, Josh Koskoff, after filing a motion to change the protection order in state Superior Court in Waterbury. “The records cannot possibly excuse Remington’s egregious marketing conduct, or be of any assistance in estimating the catastrophic damages in this case. The only relevant part of their attendance records is that they were at their desks on December 14, 2012.”

Dec. 14, 2012, was the day a 20-year-old gunman took his mother’s AR-15-style rifle from an unlocked closet and shot his way into a locked Sandy Hook Elementary School, killing 20 first-graders and six educators.

Or something like that. I guess Remington figures they can argue in court that this kinda "acting out" makes their brutal mass murder justifiable in their view.

Trayvon Martin smoked pot when he was in high school (gasp). Who knows what the Sandy Hook tykes might have done that could reduce a jury's sympathy for them?

Infowars crap, as another poster here indicated. According to Infowars:
The classrooms that were shot up were empty. The kids and teachers shot didn't exist.
The kids you saw lining up outside were crisis actors, and the whole community was in on it.
Adam Lanza only killed himself at the school for some weird reason, after killing his mother. The liberals in Newtown then used that event to try and push drastic gun control.

That's the game they're trying to play. Don't know why, because that sort of story doesn't fly in a court of law. And I doubt they could sway a jury.

But it enabled Remington to set up a big ol' pity party for them amongst the wingnut CT'ers.

https://crooksandliars.com/2017/10/john-thune-suggests-shooting-victims-died

Sen. John Thune (R-SD) said it was the (LV) victims’ responsibility to be careful…. ‘get small’.

How much smaller can first grade schoolchildren get when the weapon of choice for killing them is an AR-15 style rifle firing at them?

This is one of those times. We have people who are gleeful that they have taken personal healthcare decisions away from women and put those decisions not only in the hands of government but also in the hands of fellow citizens who may be stalkers, rapists, opportunists—anyone who just wants to make a buck by finding someone to sue. They have absolutely no concerns about the lives of women and what they go through when they are considered as baby-making machines to be forced to have children they don’t want.

Texas is notorious for its treatment of those unwanted children. Their foster care system is mostly a disgrace. And those female children who end up in foster care are frequently raped by someone in their foster families—and now they’ll be forced to give birth to their despicable rapist’s spawn. I just cannot imagine the trauma of ending up in foster care, getting raped by someone who is supposed to be taking care of you, and then being forced to have that person’s child when you aren’t even old enough to take care of yourself or have a job. I really, really hate these fake Christians who care more about the small mass of cells called an embryo than they do about the living children they are tormenting and the women they are consigning to death when they can’t have an abortion even though they need immediate treatment for cancer or gestational diabetes or extremely high blood pressure or any other disease that may take a woman’s life.

Ancient texts have given formulas for herbs that can be used to cause a miscarriage—the early version of abortion. There is no prohibition in the Bible against abortion, yet these fake Christians have set themselves up as the arbitrators of what women are allowed to do. Yet they ignore the real parts of the Bible that call lying an abomination—dozens of times. To these “Christians,” lying is just fine, cheating is just fine, stealing elections is just fine, killing your fellow citizens because you refuse a safe vaccine is just fine. What cannot be allowed is letting a woman make her own healthcare choices. That is the abomination! I really, really despise these people.

The judge in the preliminary hearings on the killers of Ahmaud Arbery yesterday had to rule that the defendents couldn't use Arbery's past in their defense. Some have tried to justify George Floyd's killing because he had a record. Kyle Rittenhouse's supporters like to bring up the fact that one of the people he killed had a record. If you have the stamina and fortitude to read comments at various news sites you'll find a lot of "well, he's dead but he wasn't a great person" posts. Doesn't matter: it's still illegal to kill people as a rule.
