Isn't the Texas abortion ban counter to Republican electoral goals?

I don't understand.
By eliminating poor peoples ability to get an abortion (rich white women will have no problems) doesn't this mean an increase in population of poor people and people of color?

Who tend to vote Democratic?

Someone please explain Reich wing logic here..

I doubt they would lose their "red flag" even if Roe is gone. Claustrum Sep 2021 #5

I had a similar thought. Plus, they have used the abortion boogey man issue for years to rile up their voters. If they succeed in tanking Roe, then they lose one of their red flags.

I guess Texas figures that they have solved that pesky "Democrats voting" problem with their suppression legislation.

They will argue, just like socialism, that they couldn't give an inch to democrats cause we will renew Roe when the court is flipped back to the democratic side.

They still out number women of color, but not for much longer if they aren’t forced to have more white babies.
