Afghanistan. I got piled on something fierce. One high school friend unfriended me. He doesn't know I think he's a sick fuck and was done with him anyway. Same with the rest of the FG followers that still believe.
I asked if she had similar posts for any of the dead since we've had FB? I get the raft of shit, then reply, "I'll take that as a no." Yikes! I looked back on her feed to Jan 6 and saw no posts over any casualties, and nothing about the six Capitol Police. I threw that at them and said I know none of you shared the same type post that was going around about them.
I'll let them attack for a few hour and go see what I've got. This is really too easy, but still kind of fun.

(12,647 posts)Can't link to the YouTube post because I don't know how to do it on my phone, but it's his clip titled "Let's talk about something in American Politics that needs to stop now" that went up today.
In it, someone posted a FB screed about naming the 13 American Marines who were killed for no good reason, who didn't know the risks because this was Biden's screwups, and what he would tell the parents and the kids to comfort them, and "Real American has their backs", yadda, yadda, yadda...
Beau was pissed. He pointed out that the mission was a success -over 100k people evacuated with only the loss of life of 13, pointed out that the Marines knew what they were there for and the risks as evidenced by their social media posts from just days before, and that in his experience, it's useless to say more than "I'm sorry for your loss, s/he was a great person", because only time can comfort the families and "'Murikkka's got your back" belittles the dead and turns their grief into your political agenda.
He's right on all counts. It's bullshit, and if I was at a memorial service and heard some ass going on about how it was politics the other person died to a grieving parent or widow/er, I'd wrap my cane around their head so hard it would take a surgeon to remove it.
Seriously. Stop belittling military dead to their families by saying they didn't know what the risks were, and they were killed because of political screwups, even if it were true.
