We had a (no longer) "once in a century" storm that brought historic flooding and damage along a wide swath of the country, which climate scientists say was almost certainly worsened by our inaction to the climate crisis over the last 25 years.
A pandemic that should be under control is now worse than ever because of Republican opposition to masks and vaccinations.
Roe v. Wade is essentially gone and citizens of one of the most populous states in the country are now financially incentivized to report people for seeking abortions.
The west remains on fire.
Am I missing anything?

I can hardly wrap my brain around all the
suffering, death, and dying occurring on a
daily basis.
