This is a quote from Samuel Adams, who owned a tavern in Boston. This was not said by John Adams, the 2nd president.

Boebert is such an embarrassment to her very gerrymandered and unbelievably geographically large district of the western slope. But, damn if there aren't many still there who might support her.

(14,559 posts)New word for someone who makes judgements based on visual attributes. Like an Ageist or a Misogynist or Weightist.
I'm a photographer, have been for nigh on to 60 years. I SEE things and she desperately needs a better publicist. From a strictly visual point of view (redundant?) she's not unattractive (that sort of comes with age) but this photo makes her look bloated and a bit unhealthy. Puffy face and fingers on an otherwise slender body and hands hanging limply at her sides, vacant gaze that doesn't engage.
Being cut off at the knees doesn't help either. Make it a full figure portrait of cut it off above the waist. If the idea is to look defiant she and the photographer really messed this one up.
I won't comment on the content of her soul or her intellectual capacity, she does a much better job of that than anyone else can ever do.
I try not to apply my visual impressions to the character or integrity of the subject because yes you really can put lipstick on a pig (I've done it) so my comments apply more to the poor judgement of both herself and her publicist.
It reminds me of a line from Dr. Who when he destroys the political career of the Prime Minister with a single off handed comment to a reporter covering her speech, "She looks tired, don't you think?"

(32,083 posts)Should've crossed her arms like Malaria did in her first official First Lady photo, too. Speaking of which, she must be using Melania's kidney surgeon. Hers are crooked, too. With a six-figure salary, you'd think she could afford better undergarments.
