To get an abortion? Would that come up in small talk on the ride to the medical provider?

(7,479 posts)1. How's the driver to know the passenger is pregnant?

No woman is gonna' get in an Uber and tell the driver to take her to the nearest abortion clinic. She would give the street address.
Dream Girl
(5,111 posts)5. Yes, but if the Uber driver is doing their job, they should realize that the address is an abortion
In fact, maybe Uber can block abortion providers from its app. This would save their drivers from getting sued. There! I figured is out!

Just as ridiculous a law for the woman.

(12,620 posts)6. That part of the "law" is not aimed at Uber drivers.
But rather at friends, family, neighbors or volunteers who knowingly drive an embryo and its host body to a clinic.

(11,631 posts)7. I like that phrase
Why even use the term "pregnant woman" if she doesn't have any agency? "Embryo and host" is much more accurate legal description now it seems.
