A New Orleans 911 operator is wanted by the authorities for allegedly hanging up on callers to the emergency line. Authorities allege that Precious Stephens, 25, repeatedly hung up on citizens who called the emergency line without even attempting to receive the emergency information or relaying the calls to other dispatchers.
The New Orleans Police Departments Third District obtained an arrest warrant for Stephens on Thursday on charges of malfeasance in office and interfering with an emergency communication.
Stephens has been fired from her job.
Stephens remains at-large at this time.

(505 posts)Thank you for creating ammo for gun humpers to use when asked why the need an AR or AK. In times of need we need to trust government workers, not be worried that our 911 call will be hung up on. Hurricane, fire, earthquake, I do not care we need to trust you! Precious, girl this aint it!!

(9,291 posts)thats is horrible. Worked that job for 8 years, you might get only one shot at the information needed on any call. Send her to jail.

Precious, if you decided that job wasn't for you, you should have just quit. There's no shame in that. What you chose to do instead is unconscionable.

(9,291 posts)Chatting with co-workers. No calls, no work.
I dont know how her supervisor didnt see the calls light up, and then drop off. I worked Gee for years, and while it might be a bit upgraded now, we still had computers.
