This article is too long and too good to be able to post only a few paragraphs, but it's an incredible read. Long-haul COVID-19 needs a lot more attention, and the experience of both the athlete and the reporter are terrifying and heart breaking. This should be required reading of any antivaxxer, especially athletes who think they're invincible.

(24,881 posts)And we have no idea when it will end if ever.
I am 53 and in pretty good shape. Not being able to run anymore or workout without crashing would be life altering.
And we have ZERO idea if vaccinated people who get a case of COVID may still get long haul.
That why I was arguing with the "I'm free!" people here when our numskull CDC director made her deadly mistake. So I kept up masking even after the giddy "if you are vaccinated you don't need a mask" announcement.
For people that don't care about long haul fine. Do whatever. But for people who do, we do not know for sure if vaccinated people are subject to long haul terrors.
