Parents expressed concern online after an anti-mask group made its way on to the grounds of a San Antonio, TX, Northside ISD school. MySA obtained an email sent to Bennie L. Cole Elementary School parents this morning saying a group of people protesting the district's mask requirements Friday morning. The email says the anti-mask group confronted the school principal Tod Kuenning and "caused a scene" that forced NISD police to intervene and ask the group to leave. No arrests were made at the time.
Barry Perez, executive director of communications, says about 15 people from the same group were there on Wednesday, but they were not on campus grounds. They returned Friday with approximately 30 people and made their way on to the school grounds.
A lockdown was not put in place at the time because the anti-mask group was there as students arrived to school around 7:30 a.m. Perez says that one student was confronted by crowd. "One student did go and report to the counselor that individuals had yelled to him to take his mask off," Perez says. "He went to the counselors because he was upset."
Northside ISD's board of trustees approved a temporary mask mandate on August 17, and continue to enforce despite the Texas Supreme Court's ruling. A photo sent by a parent shows the anti-mask group standing on the school grounds holding signs, some of them kneeling in prayer. Some of the people were not parents of Cole Elementary students, and should not have been on the school grounds.

(22,479 posts)Are they just looking for more people to join their miserable group? Are they sociopaths who want other people to die? Do they just like to complain?
I'd like to know. They are so crazy.

(7,809 posts)They decided that it would be a good idea to harass elementary school kids to make them turn against school rules and to increase their chances of getting sick - maybe seriously.
What kind of person thinks "yeah! That's a good idea!"
The British have a term for people like that: rotters.

(25,969 posts)Well, there's your problem.
Without consequences, the crazy people will keep spreading the crazy. There's no excuse for allowing this behavior on school grounds (or anywhere, really.) Trespassing, disturbing the peace -- there's plenty to charge them with. Just do it.
