I needed some to make reinforcements for my kitchen cabinets, and bought eight at $7.50 apiece. These things weren’t planed on the long sides. The guy out in the yard who was helping me load them wanted to make sure this “unplaned wood” was going to work for me - apparently a lot of people see the two rough sides and just go apeshit. After I told the poor beleaguered soul I was going to plane them to one inch before using them, he was really happy to dig through the stack for ones with no knots…without me even asking him to. I think I’ll use the same supplier for the wood I’m going to turn into moulding.
