Regarding Texas law and the supreme court permitting its absurd private-party-enforcement provisions, can democratic legislatures use similar means to drive a wedge in the wedge?
Such as: Concealed carry law in New York. If the Supreme Court rules in favor of the NRA in November, it would be handy if the Democrats had a replacement law waiting. Make it illegal, but with private-party-enforcement onlybanning state enforcement of concealed carry the same way the Texas law does with abortion, while incentivizing people to identify those who conceal carry Use their model against them.
Make it illegal for pharmaceutical companies to charge uninsured patients more than insurance companies, but make it enforceable by private-party lawsuits, with damages of legal fees plus $10,000.
Make it illegal to donate more than $5000 to a political action committee, but enforceable by private-party lawsuits, with damages of legal fees plus $10,000.
Make it illegal to not wear a mask in a public place, but enforceable only by private-party lawsuits, with damages of legal fees plus $10,000.
Im sure yall can think of some better examples.

(4,726 posts)They already have an exploitable system in place with their FOID cards; simply pass a vigilante-enforcement law that allows any citizen to report any other citizen for owning a firearm without the requisite FOID. The accused then has to prove they don't illegally own any guns; I imagine that would involve a thorough search of their homes at the very least.
Or just do it with illegal drugs?
