Joe Biden makes good on a campaign promise to 9-11 families.

Yesterday President Biden signed an Executive Order requiring the Attorney General to complete a declassification review of all 9/11-related FBI documents, beginning with the April 2016 FBI Review related to Operation Encore which must be reviewed and released to the public before the upcoming twentieth anniversary. The remainder of all other FBI documents must be reviewed within six months, with the goal for full public release.

President Biden has done what none of his predecessors have done by ordering this full declassification review and full public disclosure of all 9/11-related FBI documents

Statement by President Joe Biden on the Executive Order Directing Declassification Review of Documents Related to the September 11, 2001 Terrorist Attacks
September 03, 2021

When I ran for president, I made a commitment to ensuring transparency regarding the declassification of documents on the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on America.

As we approach the 20th anniversary of that tragic day, I am honoring that commitment. Today, I signed an executive order directing the Department of Justice and other relevant agencies to oversee a declassification review of documents related to the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s September 11th investigations. The executive order requires the Attorney General to release the declassified documents publicly over the next six months.

We must never forget the enduring pain of the families and loved ones of the 2,977 innocent people who were killed during the worst terrorist attack on America in our history. For them, it was not only a national and international tragedy. It was a personal devastation. For 20 years, children have grown up without parents and parents have suffered without children. Husbands and wives have had to find a way forward without their partners in life. Brothers and sisters, uncles and aunts, loved ones and friends have celebrated 20 years of birthdays, family gatherings, and milestones looking at an empty chair at homes and with a hole in their hearts.

My heart continues to be with the 9/11 families who are suffering, and my Administration will continue to engage respectfully with members of this community. I welcome their voices and insight as we chart a way forward.

to our memorial events".

It received 66 recs and 94 responses, many of which agreed with the nasty "dis-invitation" which came from a right wing 9/11 family member who has set himself up as a spokesman and who makes appearances on Tucker Carlson's show. This "spokesman", however, only represents a small portion of 9/11 families and/or family members. I know this because I am a 9/11 family member, and Brett Eagleson does not speak for me or for my family.

At issue? The declassification review that candidate Joe Biden had promised in 2019-2020.

Now that President Biden has directed that the declassification review take place, the only response to this thread is this response.

Where are the critics of President Biden (ready and willing to align themselves with one of Tucker Carlson's right wing tools) now that Biden has made good on his promise to review and release the documents?

so instant gratification falls by the wayside. Senator Blumenthal has been a hardworking, tenacious advocate in all of these efforts for many years.

I have 2 really deep political “crushes.” Rep. Clybrun and Sen. Blumenthal. Smart, clear, reasoned action.
