The driving force behind these "heartbeat" anti-abortion bills is Janet Porter.

That's right, JANET.

She's a fundy anti-abortion zealot who won't be satisfied until the entire US is mandatory fundy "christian."

Because they are RULED by their husband's or significant others. That is spousal abuse of a more devious kind.

Some are true believers on their own. Some even lead their husbands down this road. We make a mistake as if we act as if it is strictly woman vs man. It is that in lots of ways, but it is also this fascistic dark theology that is an outgrowth of fundamentalist evangelicalism. (Though Catholicism is kind of its own thing here) And that is, unfortunately, the lifeblood of the antiabortion movement and it is the driving force among many women not just men.

I was just having a conversation with a friend about this yesterday, sort of. We both had mothers who had been raised Catholic and administered the very same kind of abuse to their children, especially the females. Seems there was at least one recent generation where that was so.

There are, though, women who are cheering this war on women on and aid in the abuse. I tend to equate them with that Maxwell woman and the mother of Cybil.

This assumes that the women connected to this are not believers. I'm sure there are some women on our side who ended up married to the fascists and such a thing might work there -- but many of them agree, support, and even lead the men in this. Lots of political republicans don't really care that much about abortion, but they use it for political power. And some men surely do it because they believe they should control women. But that's not all of them by a big measure.

Lessons learned in Texas will be tweeked n improved with each roadblock they give us .. more will be empowered n I believe the men of conscience will join in. I see a good fight n I’ll do my part. Has been many years but the passion is still alive with this . We’re 51% of the population and have nothing to lose.. good odds.

All her life, she championed causes to improve the lives of women. More so when it came to choice. Even she knew not all women were cut out to be mothers. She knew that women were the ones best to decide things going forward. Her legacy is intact.

Roe v. Wade is skating on thin ice. The Conservatives on the US Supreme Court have to know popular opinion to overturn Roe is not on their side. The Constitutional right of women to decide their fates hangs in the balance of 5 men and one woman. They overturn Roe, THIS is what they will be remembered for. Their legacies will have asterisks attached to them when it relates to the Constitutional Rights of Women.

As Winston Churchill once said about a Nation at war..."Never give up." We must never give up either. The Genie has been out of the bottle for almost 50 years. She ain't going back willingly without a fight.
