Well, that's a far more humane approach than originally came to mind (for those backing this bill). hlthe2b Sep 2021 #1

I imagined the very effective alternative technique used by the many livestock veterinarians in Texas-- specifically for these Texas Taliban.

A minor snip surgery should not cow a big Texas guy.

That’s why rapists rape. If there were a law that rapists get castrates maybe that law would prevent rape. But that’s unconstitutional.

Unborn Protection and Support Act

“Whoever” causes a woman to become pregnant must pay her a minimum of $700 per week—or more if ruled, plus provide medical coverage, per fetus, from the day the pregnancy is confirmed until the resulting child is 18 years of age. This would only not apply if the two were in a full time relationship and the woman signed a waiver. However, that waiver could be withdrawn at any time until the resulting child is 18 years of age.

If a person was unable, with current income to provide at that level, they would be required to work no less than 50 hours per week at Chick-fil-A, Hobby Lobby or another appropriate employer to make up the difference. Should they still not be able to earn the determined amount, the state would provide the difference and the person’s required employment would continue until the debt to the state is paid off, or until they reach 67 years of age, whichever comes first.

Any person attempting to evade determination that they had caused a woman’s pregnancy will be charged with a felony, punishable by up to 18 years in prison and a $500,000 fine. The fine plus prison work would be arranged to defray the cost of the pregnancy/childhood. Following release, the person would go into the previously described “work program” until the cost was fully defrayed.

If any person is aware of any person that has caused a pregnancy and is attempting to evade full responsibility, they may file suit against that person and/or any person helping that person evade responsibility, and if successful, receive a minimum of $10,000 plus any legal expenses incurred.

Just another angle. Let's let them prove that it's about the unborn and not for controlling the women.
