another idea for texas

i read about this and dont know the details of what it would actually entail

the DOJ should announce that anyone filing a lawsuit in texas for abetting an abortion will be presecuted by the federal government for violating peoples civil rights

IMHO they shouldnt even wait and should arrest evert texas legislator who voted for the stupid bill and abbott for signing it

There’s all these talks of weird an unconstitutional answers, why not let them sue and go to court to have it nullified.

Blue cities/states need to do this Texas snitch thing with mask mandates...Seriously!!!!

The mask mandate thing has the potential to get very out of control..and that is why we want with Texas, but abortion is hidden..
But mask mandate non-compliance is everywhere and there will be lawsuits everywhere...

Play ball!

5. Abortion is no longer a civil right in US law.

It would just go before the same judges that upheld the Texas law. I think we're in a 15 year battle to get those rights back, if we do everything right.

The five judges aren't stupid, they know that allowing the ruling to stay in effect denies a basic right. If the same statute dealt with a universally accepted right, it wouldn't stand. Think about if Texas passed a law stating a 10k civil fine for making a statement denying the divinity of Jesus. Can't imagine there wouldn't be an injunction. Let these guys have their way with newly blossomed legal theory, they'll make civil liberties as politely moot as they were in the 1890s under the last Klan court.

And that's my point. This is a political move by a stacked court, only able to be resolved by disciplined and nontrivial control of the House, Senate, and presidency. It's going to take 15 years, but it starts with a full throated rejection of the idea that Thomas, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, Alito, or Barrett are doing anything other than a political grab
