50th Anniversary of the break-in at Daniel Ellsberg's psychiatrist's office
Yesterday was the 50th anniversary (September 3, 1971) when Gordon Liddy, E. Howard Hunt, and others acting with the approval of Richard Nixon's senior advisor John Ehrlichman, committed a criminal act. Specifically, they broke into Dr. Lewis Fielding's psychiatry office in Los Angeles to get dirt on his patient Daniel Ellsberg. Ellsberg, of course, leaked the Pentagon Papers.
