A reminder to everyone claiming that masks might have some form of impact emotional/educational development children.
1.1 million kids have lost a primary caregiver due to COVID. We are 100% positive that losing a primary caregiver has major emotional/educational impact on kids.

(268,724 posts)The same people who object to masks have no problems with the kids doing drills for school shootings.

(113,095 posts)I suspect that those heavy backpacks are doing way more damage to their backs. Masks are harmless - annoying but so what.

(7,263 posts)to get their lies spread to folks who can't or won't understand the fact the 1% are lying to protect their own interests.
The idiocy factor is high but not that high - too many regular working class folks that just don't have the time or skills to winnow out the Truth and are so used to sitting in front of electronic screens all their lives and accepting whatever they see/hear as truth.
THAT is the problem, and has been since Raygun started destroying public education and encouraging home schooling by well meaning but unqualified parents.

(51,570 posts)kids, women, minorities are NON-citizens in this country, more so in some states than others.
The GQP is obviously grasping at straws with this one. The disgusting and frustrating thing is that a couple million morons (or "morans" as the prefer to spell it) will latch onto this like the blind sheep they are.

(32,599 posts)It may mean mild cold symptoms for the kids, but it could also be a killer for the older family members.

(42,770 posts)in central Texas, I can only observe mores and behaviors here until 2023 when I can get out. But I have noticed that there's an odd thing... There doesn't seem to be any huge reaction to loss of life. Like everyone dies of something.
There also doesn't seem to be any blame gene. My vaccinated FIL pretty much knows he caught it from an infected neighbor. Yet no one is blaming the infected neighbor. I'd be like " You MF, I am laying in rehab half paralyzed because of you. You MF"

(6,265 posts)are trying to rule. Not govern us. Truth in what you warn. If trump and his medical specialists had not lied, distracted, kept mum and diverted attention to the lethality of this virus. We would possibly have had less of this anti-masker BS created by very ignorant and dangerous Covid virus spreaders. Nail on the head, again she she...

(27,794 posts)I am working at a childcare center at the moment, and the 3-5 year old kids (under 3 don't need them) are fine with masks! They wear them unless they are eating, and they eat at tables spread out for social distancing. They are happy, playful, and active. So don't believe it if anyone tells you it's a problem. It's not. Sure, the masks fall down and off occasionally, but they don't complain about putting them back on.

(27,794 posts)Used to work there, owner needed someone when her workers moved away while she is looking. I am vaxxed, so is she, so are the parents. The daycare is outside only for five and a half hours a day. So I am helping temporarily, since I left my high-stress job in April.

(83,669 posts)Pro Life my ass...they are trying to kill them. Not behind a closed door, out in the open and some even campaigning for the Presidency on it!. It's the economy. Kids? Welp, you can always have another one.
I hate them all.
