Georgia DA Asks Witnesses About Trump's Call to 'Find' Votes

A local criminal investigation into then-President Donald Trump’s attempt to meddle with Georgia’s 2020 election recount is inching forward, as Fulton County investigators have interviewed elections officials and received documents from the agency, according to three people with direct knowledge of the probe.

“They’ve asked us for documents, they’ve talked to some of our folks, and we’ll cooperate fully,” Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger told The Daily Beast this week.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis previously revealed to The Daily Beast that she has spun up a new anti-corruption team to explore what state laws, if any, were broken when Trump and his allies tried to overturn election results there. But her office has been quiet about the matter in the five months since.

Her investigators have since interviewed at least four officials at the secretary of state’s office, asking questions that show a particular interest in Raffensperger’s separate phone conversations with Trump and U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, according to two of these sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

I must admit the thought of seeing a recreation close-up of a set of big blubbery lips shouting obscenities and demanding votes be 'found' from a seat in an anonymous darkened bathroom made me :chuckaringe:.

While the truth moves forward an inch at a time, the culprits are still light years away.

I no longer have faith that justice will be served. Short attention span theater is what they will rely on.

Chris Dush, (R) Brookville is heading a state committee that is asking residents to submit stories of election malfeasance.

The first malfeasance that I can see is electing Chris Dush. He is a guy who ran with the promise to only serve 2 terms, well I guess that makes him an excellent choice to head this committee, a liar.

Hey, our DOJ allowed a bogus Cyber Ninja company to have access to ballots, voting equipment, and other materials in violation of federal law so why wouldn't the Big Lie spread to other states?

What about federal election laws? How can calling the SOS of a state and asking for an specific number of ballots to be found, not be a violation of federal election law? Where is the DOJ on this?

snip...

Observers have noted that this Fulton County investigation out of Atlanta is proceeding slowly. Earlier this summer, Insider noted that Willis is struggling to dedicate adequate resources to investigate the former president, because her office faces a growing crime wave and is trudging through “a historic backlog of 12,000 cases” she inherited from her predecessor.

Trump clearly asked a state official to break the law and overturn the election. How can that be ignored by the DOJ?

Are we going to extend "a sitting president can't be indicted" to an ex-president, as well?

It feels like DOJ is leaving any criminal investigations into Trump, to the states of NY & GA. I'm not feeling very confident about Merrick Garland. I'm sure someone will come along & tell me that much is being done in the background & I'm being impatient & that justice will be served, but I'm not feeling it. And honestly, I look back over the past 40 years, & I don't see our side holding their side accountable when they step out of bounds. We always look forward, in an effort to heal the nation. And now, a growing, white supremacist cancer has taken over one of our two political parties, & we're teetering on the brink of one-party rule.

But it is my fervent hope that Graham goes down because of his involvement in this. Indicted and convicted--at the very least forced to resign in disgrace, although being a Republican, I guess "disgrace" is a totally alien concept to him, except when applied to Democrats.

with the fraudit was a violation of federal law, Title 52 - Voting and Elections - Subtitle I and II, Ballots, voting systems, and other election materials were no longer in the custody of election officials. Our DOJ wrote a stern letter, this is why Pa. just recently set up a committee run by Rep. Chris Dush, asking residents to submit evidence of election malfeasance. No one was held accountable in Arizona so the Big Lie marches on.
