and if it's non-partisan, why such a tilted district? She's probably lose a purple race next cycle, so who decided to waste the (D)'s on her district? The Republican non-partisans? Conversely, who's reaping the pleasure of her tilted district defeat? It's not the Republicans. Again, to my inquisitive mind, show me the non-partisan in this. Maybe both sides, for very different reasons, would like her retirement on a silver platter?

Bobert lives near the I-70 corridor, which has seen significant growth since the last time the districts were defined, and generally leans Democratic as has Colorado as a whole for the last 10-15 years. Also, the committee is made up of four Dems, four Repugs, and four Independents, none of whom can have a career in politics or lobbying. So the Independents probably balance it out.

I was driving a twice weekly trip out there last year, covering a manpower shortage and was amazed at how far east of the airport the housing developments have been built. That redraw makes perfect sense, as you mentioned the significant growth on the I-70 corridor. It’s certainly the case East of Denver as well as on the Western slope.

can not try to protect the interests of current officeholders as they design the new map.

In a memo with the new proposal, the nonpartisan staff noted that the commission was divided on the idea of a largely southern district. However, a majority recommended that the map keep together the San Luis Valley, Pueblo and the Lower Arkansas Valley, and Souther Ute and Ute Mountain Ute tribal lands in the far southwest. ...

“For all of us geeks it’s been an exciting afternoon,” said Republican Frank McNulty, a former state House speaker and the registered agent of the Colorado Neighborhood Coalition, which has been advocating for congressional maps from a conservative perspective. “The staff did the best they could with a recommendation they had to create a southern district,” McNulty said.

McNulty said it looked like the new Congressional map would create three safe Republican seats, three safe Democratic ones and two competitive districts. ...

If this plan holds up I will be redistricted into one that now contains her and Joe Neguse. I can't imagine Boulder County would stand for her as a rep, much less OVER Joe Neguse.

Also, as was already stated, CO has become way more blue lately. Hickenlooper slaughtered Cory Gardner, and a lot people here (including me) don't even like Hick that much.

I'm not sure Boebert would have lasted even without redistricting.

She is such a fool. Big money financed her, Guns made her. I know how you feel. My criminal corrupt ass district, gave the country Meadows, and to top it off we thought he was too liberal so we gave you Cawthorn. Yes gerrymandering helped, but the video of his blood bath rants in Macon County, that is them. Pure stupid, illiterate inbreeding. No lines needed to district that county and many like it, just take that whole county as is. Asheville is blue, but step outside the city, you got shallow gene pools. Poor and ignorant racist and rich as hell transplants that hate to give a dime for services. Mostly Floridiot DeSatan loving Mountaintop consuming, no regulation rich assholes, that love Cawthorn and illiterate inbreds as long as they vote for rich people rights. Colorado has 8 districts, 4 solid Dem, 3 solid Repug, 1 swing. The MAGAs consider her a star so they will just run her in another district where she will win.

In their sick world, she is a big time player, they do not want to lose her fund raising ability. And they will paint her as overcoming the plot by the libs to stop her. This will just increase her appeal to the MAGAts.

Lauren Boebert was not "moved to a solidly Democratic district," there's a proposal to redraw a solidly Democratic district so that it includes Lauren Boebert's home, her current house, her residential address, that's all. She can choose to continue living there & run in the "new" district where her house would be located (if the redistricting proposal is adopted) or run in her old district. She doesn't have to live in a district to run in it.

.....................In June, Politico reported that Boebert was already losing favor with voters in her district, with some supporters feeling she was more interested in building up her image than doing the job voters sent her to Washington D.C to do.

As the Post notes, unless the Colorado Republican lawmaker packs up her family and moves, her re-election hopes may be an uphill battle.

"Colorado's nonpartisan redistricting commission has proposed a congressional map that would create a new swing seat in the northern Denver suburbs and lump conservative firebrand Rep. Lauren Boebert into a Boulder-based solidly Democratic seat currently held by liberal Rep. Joe Neguse," the Post's Nicholas Riccardi wrote.

People seem to think that Boebert is in one of those hardcore Republican districts where she won 75 - 25, but she’s not. She only won her election 51 - 45 last year. It would only take a little tweaking to make her district lean Democratic.
