(115,587 posts)A fair amount of workplace sexual harassment and discrimination short of physical contact, though.

(9,941 posts)I was assaulted...grabbed in a sexual manner without my consent...by a co-worker who was my superior. I told him in no uncertain terms to "get his hands off me". Two weeks later I was fired for "failure to get along with co-workers." Pretty sure he had something to do with it.

(34,095 posts)I cannot raise my hand but I am thankfully able to say I was never raped. I was also not one to put up with a lot of that crap either so....I was lucky.

(5,111 posts)This is close to blaming the victim. she should have fought back/ been more forceful/said no.

(34,095 posts)I would never do that and maybe you should think about what you say to someone you do not know.

(9,256 posts)Who went on to become a department head with many honors, distinguished career (retired now). And if Id said something back then (1976) Id immediately get blamed for wearing a tight sweater. So it actually never occurred to me to tell anyone til recently, not that it will do any good.

(20,814 posts)raise my hand, unfortunately. Nor can more than half of the women I know or have known, and those are just the ones who've spoken about or reported it. I suspect there are many more who've kept it to themselves or just a few people.

(484 posts)Ive been lucky.
Ive known other women who werent so lucky. Back in my younger years, friends of mine, a lesbian couple, were assaulted and raped in their home by a knife wielding creep who was going to un-gay them with manly man sex. Disgusting and traumatizing.
