Send a sick kid to school and they will pass it on to other kids as well as the teachers and other school staff, who can potentially get sick themselves, and bring it home to their own families.

except for the fact that most parents probably have no choice- between their job and sick children. The blame for having to make that choice falls on the state of employment laws in their states and localities, which, given that it's Texas we're talking about, I can imagine that most employers aren't likely to be very charitable/flexible for parents with sick children.
