LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – Jaime Patrick is imploring everyone to get vaccinated after going through the heartbreak of losing two children to COVID-19.

Her 39-year-old daughter Brandi died from COVID in July, while her son 38-year-old Dustin was admitted to the intensive care unit at Sunrise Hospital with the virus. Patrick’s son was in critical condition when she spoke to KLAS last month, but he started to make small improvements.

But his lungs collapsed, and doctors said there was nothing more they could do.

“There is nothing left of his lungs,” said Patrick. “The doctor said they are just two cement blocks. That is how much scar tissue is in there because of COVID.”

Neither of her children were vaccinated, and Patrick feels their deaths could have been prevented.

Someone needs to make a documentary to show the connection between the spread of false politically motivated information and the death toll. Covid is an easy one to connect, with idiots like Alex Jones taking Ivermectin on t.v. But FoxNews just went out of its way to remove climate change from their reporting of flooding.

So many idiots living among us. I just don't see how we can't win the next two elections, based on commercials that can show that Republicans are not in the business of protecting public health and safety.

In case anyone is curious… Right now in the USA, every ten days, more than 8,000 (unvaccinated) Republican voters are dying of COVID-19. That’s 5X the rate for Democrats.

That was met with more than a bit of skepticism, so he added:

Thanks for asking. Twitter, of course, does not lend itself to full citations.

I derived the number from published COVID-19 death rates of unvaccinated people (about 1,000 per day). And from the polls that show 25% of Republican voters are unvaccinated, versus 5% of Democrats.

Still a little sketchy. I do think he's roughly right, but would really prefer a more robust analysis.
