BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Idaho public health leaders on Tuesday activated “crisis standards of care” for the state’s northern hospitals because there are more coronavirus patients than the institutions can handle.

The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare made the announcement, warning residents that they may not be able to get the care they normally expect if they need to be hospitalized.

The designation includes 10 hospitals and healthcare systems in the Idaho panhandle and in north-central Idaho.

Friend had heart attack last week.

Waited EIGHT HOURS in ER for care, then sent home with rxs to protect from overrun hospital, overflowing with magats!

Sent home after heart attack to protect her. Let that sink in...

7. At some point hospitals are going to have to save beds

for people with emergencies other than Covid. Denial of treatment to everyone but Covid patients is just wrong, particularly if they are unvacinated.

6. If I was a Doctor the first question I would ask is

“Did you get vaccinated?” If no, “please have a seat and we’ll get to you as soon as we can.”

When you are judging who should live, the first question should be who has behaved like they want to be alive. We need no more space for heartfelt regrets, just the space for someone who wants to live.
