MICHAEL K. WILLIAMS COPS LOOKING FOR DRUG DEALER

Michael K. Williams' death of an apparent drug overdose has triggered a criminal investigation ... because law enforcement sources tell TMZ cops are trying to locate the drug dealer.

Our law enforcement sources say NYPD detectives are conducting an investigation into the origin of the narcotics cops found at the site of the actor's death over the weekend ... which we're told are believed to be heroin-based.

As we reported ... Michael was found dead in his Brooklyn apartment, and authorities found drug paraphernalia. An official autopsy has yet to be conducted ... but we're told drugs seem to be at play. A toxicology report should provide answers, but that could be weeks away.

A relative found Michael after not hearing from him for a few days ... and once he was discovered, a swarm of NY officials descended on his Brooklyn high-rise.

So sad that he was afflicted with this disease. We lose so many of the most talented far too young.

I remember when Heath Ledger died, it was a whole huge thing about where the drugs came from. They found and arrested Phillip Seymour Hoffman's dealer at the time. He was some white guy.

Pretty common. For the famous. Joe Meh in an alley? Eh. They ain't lookin unless they already have a suspect.

But the Internet ordains I must possess knowledge of a great many things celebrity, whether I want to or not.

In another thread, I suddenly realized I know way too much about the Britney Spears saga. Like, why? This is not information I actively sought out in any way.

I see the new cast of Dancing with the Stars is being revealed. That's my sign to head into a bunker.

and takes up a lot of space. Apparently the less useful the better. Commercials from my youth...Schaeffer & Miller beer, band-aids, spaghetti-o's, Oscar Meyer bologna. My god they must be at least 50 years old, and they're stuck in there like cement. Good thing fox wasn't around when I was growing up. Better useless, than toxic sludge.

that the drugs were tainted, and maybe they have indication of that.

(Totally speculating here.)

short time and more than 16 are dead from her small town class. Except for those heroin users who were on Methadone, I never knew an old drug addict in my entire life. So many celebrities have died of drug addiction, it would not be possible to list them all here.

In my opinion, it often stems from untreated mental illness...self-medication. There is no mental health infrastructure in this country and even those who are famous and wealthy can't get good treatment in many cases.

I have battled the system seeking mental health care for my daughter, and it has cost thousands of dollars. And yet has not been particularly successful. She struggles on a daily basis and has tried to commit suicide three times. She is doing better at the moment. Perhaps this time the medication will work and/or she will take it.
