...we believe in majority rule.
If we believe in majority rule, we believe in the right of every citizen to vote.
If we believe in the right of every citizen to vote, then we cannot support restrictions on that right.
If we believe in a democracy, then we cannot support a "super majority" or the "filibuster" rule. They are antithetical to a democracy.
If we are to save our democracy, then we must adhere to the rules of a democracy and get rid of the "filibuster" and the super majorities that only benefit those that are anti-democracy.

Even the Supreme Court rules by simple majority.

(42,676 posts)sewed escape clauses into the fabric in case things weren't going in the long term best interests of society, which is to say, the society they created with people like them in the highest positions of power. Unfortunately private self interests have learned to exploit those loopholes while the wise and far-sighted have diminished.
So it was always a democracy*.
* with exceptions.
