We had to turn it off after 20 minutes not PBSs fault.
The faces alone brought back the rage. My husband said of Dubya: I forgot how stupid he looked! Rumsfeld came on, and I said, Rot in hell, you evil bastard! A description of Cheneys years-long paranoia, decades of a dark, dark worldview, brought similar remarks. Gitmo, fucking Gitmo.
What did we do to ourselves? Somewhere in the bowels of Hell, bin Laden is mocking Rumsfeld. I wish Dick Cheney was with them.
ON EDIT: The program after Rachel on Wednesday, Remembrance Box I think its called, is very very good. Just the ordinary people who lived through it, then and now.

(24,560 posts)Obama's War was kinda lame and was about Afghanistan. It did not hold my interest.
But then, ISIS came along and they did another episode. I believe it was called Rise of ISIS and there was another one called Losing Iraq. Bush's War, Rise of ISIS and Losing Iraq were well done. Both were critical of both administrations and I learned alot.
But a "remembrance" piece from Frontline...I don't know...Unless there is something to be learned from watching it, I probably can't get excited about it.
*********
I would rather watch a remembrance piece on CNN...mainly because..just because..can't say why...Frontline has it's own style and CNN has their own style. (I don't have cable anymore)

I protested so hard in those early years, I clung so hard to my belief in my country, and after an 8-year reprieve with Obama (who was never meant to be Jesus, but did the best he could given the GOP) , we got effing Trump. Trump broke something in me.

(80,699 posts)I can't bear to watch any of the 9/11 stuff either. Just not in the mood for bad reminders.

Our neighbor freaked out. Shed take one of those exact flights one day earlier, as part of her job with the Latin Grammys. She was absolutely freaked. We all got the call from school to come pick the kids up because the school was closed for the day. I volunteered to drive us up. She didnt argue. She was in NO condition to drive, and I was happy to.
And as soon as I could, I glued myself to the TV coverage for the rest of the day.

(17,972 posts)An apt description of how I feel. To think so many believe in Trump and still swallow the lies.
It has turned family members against each other because the loud mouth, lying group are keeping it going.

(33,987 posts)i remember that documentary that was being filmed in one of the towers--there were two guys, possibly french? that were filming and when that aired you could hear the sound of bodies falling outside the lobby the crew and firefighters were standing in.
i saw quite enough. heard quite enough.
i don't think i can handle seeing and hearing those horrendous moments again

(15,958 posts)Right after Rachel. It sounds like it's about ordinary people recalling their personal experiences of 9/11, whether they were there in NYC or watching from afar. Sounds a lot more watchable than a docu about Dubya and co. Even then, I don't know if I'll watch or not. Just not sure if I'm ready to relive that.

(29,467 posts)of a rookie Fireman it started back in like May or some month earlier then September. They followed all his moves, and his day to day life and it was pretty mundane for the rookie, all he kept saying was I want some real action, not real action where people died or anything, just something more then cars on fire, and small fires. THEN they saw the first plane hit Tower One. It was heart breaking, and it was on from then. Really well done, a completely different perspective, Im sure you can find it somewhere and if you can please watch it.
