Earlier in the summer, the USA was listed as a low risk area (minimal quarantine after entry, none with vaxx docs).

By the time I got back here from the USA (August 27th), the country was once again listed as a high risk area, with stringent requirements for anyone entering Germany who had been there in the last 14 days. Florida used to be a popular destination for Germans, so they pay close attention to what the current situation is there. At the moment, it isn't particularly encouraging.

The EU knows full well that the USA doesn't consist only of Florida, Texas and Mississippi, but they also know that Americans are very mobile, and anyone flying in from New York, Chicago or Washington could well have been in Miami the day before.

Not everyone here knows the name of the Governor of Florida, but they all seem to know he is a useless tool.
