(12,504 posts)was held in the darkness of the field after midnight with no news media present. Dubya is probably practicing giving a speech while ducking shoes aimed at his head from the audience.

(8,052 posts)all but ignores this aspect of the story.
It also cuts away immediately from the footage of Bush staring into headlights after being told "the country is under attack." He sat there for several minutes too stunned and or vapid to move. In the documentary this too isn't even mentioned--all of which works to make Bush and his administration seem far less incompetent and complacent.
And it's not like this was some momentary lapse, or that he and his administration learned from this mistake. The catastrophic response to Katrina years later demonstrated the same sloppy preparation and incompetent follow-through.
How quickly so many in the media want us all to forget. Sadly, it will probably work, people too young or too detached to remember these details will remain entirely unaware of these realities.

(2,268 posts)Before they left, the Clinton administration briefed Bush et all on the growing terrorist threats and the plans they had implemented to prevent acts of terrorism. Bush and Cheney couldnt have cared less, they never took it seriously. Instead, Bush was too busy playing golf and passing tax cuts for his wealthy friends. Until Trump came into office, Bush/Cheney was the worst Presidential administration in our countrys history.

(32,639 posts)Vengeance against Saddam Hussein was his primary motive. When the Al Qaeda rumblings made it look like they were going to start trouble, Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld just said, "Bring it on!"
I really don't know if Bush's people lumped Osama Bin Laden together with Hussein or not. It seems ludicrous now, but that word describes pretty much everything they did.

The fact that war criminal didn't decline the offer to speak (which never should have been made) tells all that needs to be known about that lying piece of shit.
