don't care if people leave the state and never return. In fact, they hope Democrats do leave.
Here's why: Texas is moving toward becoming a purple state, or even a blue one. If trends continue, it won't be long before Democrats in Texas reverse the conservative nature of Texas politics. They want anyone with liberal ideas to get the Hell out of Texas, leaving Republicans in control of the State.
It's something most of us don't consider. We're angry at Texas government. That's the goal. Conservative Texas leaders want liberals to get so angry they leave the state and help to ensure that the Right rules Texas for much longer than it would if everyone stayed there.
Long term planning...

(5,113 posts)The agreement Texas made when the joined gave them the right. No congressional arrival needed

(9,941 posts)I don't care if he's vaccinated. His medical condition (paraplegia) puts him at risk for a lot of things. His anti-vaccination status and anti-masking position is killing a lot of his base, something he probably hasn't considered and neither have his lieutenants, Patrick and Paxton. Paxton is going to jail. So those things are also factors.

(146,254 posts)It's not a viable strategy, either.
The only strategy that will work will be for Democrats to amp up their GOTV efforts to make sure that every Democrat can and does vote in every election. Texas wants to make that more difficult, but the roadblocks being put up can all be overcome if there is a strong will to overcome them.

I'll believe it when I don't see it. I'm tired of BS speculation about this one or that one going to jail, or even getting charged.
It's pure fantasy. Accountability does not exist for some.

Minorities also have more exposure to Covid than non-minorities. They had to return to work earlier and stuff like that.
